ASDAM 10 (25-27 Oct
2010)
Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Faculty of EE & IT) and
Slovak Academy of Sciences (IEE) are organising the 8th International Conference
on Advanced Semiconductor Devices and Microsystems at Smolenice Castle. Much of
the conference will be on MORGaN-related topics, including material, structure
and sensor technologies. For further information please contact:

HETECH 2010

18-20 Oct-2010; Crete, Greece
The 19th HETECH Workshop was intended organised by MORGaN member FORTH. The
event helped to bring together young
scientists, engineers and post graduate students along with experienced
researchers and industry representatives, working in the field of compound
semiconductors and other heterogeneous technologies focusing on materials and
devices for electronics, optoelectronics and sensing. The event will be
sponsored by MORGaN, and will feature many speakers and representatives from the
project.
Industrial Technologies 2010

7-9 Sep-2010; Brussels, Belgium
On 7, 8 and 9 September 2010, a major conference in the area of
Industrial Technologies was organised by the European Commission in
cooperation with the Belgian EU Presidency. The focus was on
nanotechnologies and nanosciences, materials and production technologies, which
are the key areas of the FP7 NMP Theme.
NANOfutures
15-16 Jun-2010; Gijon, Spain
Duncan Allsopp (University of Bath) represented the MORGaN project at this
event. The objective was for participants to extend their knowledge on
nanotechnologies, as well as get in contact with top-level European
industrialists and world-class researchers in order to learn about
nanotechnology, to exchange information, to find new applications for
nanotechnology, to open new business opportunities and to increase their
awareness on on-going R&D activities in the field.
Aixtron receives order for two CRIUS MOCVD systems
10-Jun-2010; Aachen, Germany
MORGaN partner Aixtron AG says that in Q4/2009 it received an order for two
CRIUS production MOCVD systems, in a 31x2 inch wafer configuration, from China's
Xi An ZoomView. More information can be found in the

MORGaN training workshop
24-26 May-2010; Bratislava
This exciting training event was hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
& Information Technology (STU) with demos at the International Laser Centre and
Slovak Academy of Sciences (IEE) set in the beautiful, historic city of
Bratislava. Introductory talks provided an overview of the MORGaN project and
key research topics and the event focused on processing & characterisation, with
invited speakers discussing the latest techniques, and practical demonstrations
to support the material.
Aixtron expands to new R&D facilities
Aixtron has announced (27-Jan-10) plans for investment of 40M€ over
the next 2-3 years in a new state-of-the-art R&D campus.
Article on MORGaN technology in Semiconductor Today (08-Jan-2010)
An article on "Reducing GaN HEMT degradation with InAlN barrier" describing some
of the work by MORGaN partners TU Vienna, IEE (Slovak Academy of Sciences) and
EPFL.
